Magic

The idea behind wearing a Tiara or Headband is to conjure magic

Adding magic and evoking the romance and fairytale dreams that we often we have as children and turn them into a reality. They instil a sense of confidence in the bride, evoking a regal femininity.

As a Bridal Hair Accessory is a new item you are considering purchasing. Here are few factors you may wish to consider:

What is the difference between a Tiara and Headband?

Handmade Crown Tiaras tend to be produced on a pre-made base. They often look like a circle. They tend to sit further back on  your head. They can be produced using thick wire, as a base. The advantage of crafting a handmade base is, it is likely to be more flexible and comfortable.

7 Factors to consider, when deciding upon a Tiara or Headband…

  1. Up or down: Will you be wearing your hair in an Up-do, or a down style.
  2. Front or back:  Whether you want a focal point on the front of your head, or further back in your hair.
  3. Hairstyle: Crown tiaras will require pins or grips. Will your hairstyle suit hairpins? Can you obtain, or Commission pins that would adequately match your Crown Tiara.
  4. Comfort versus style. Pre-made tiara bases can be uncomfortable. Headbands tend to be rather more comfortable.
  5. Veil: If you are wearing a veil you may wish to consider wearing a Crown that sits at the front of the head.
  6. Face Shape: A round face often suits a hairpiece that sits higher on the top of the head. Long faces tend to suit headbands and combs that fall lower, or can be worn further back on the head. Oval faces suit best most tiaras and headbands.
  7. Hairdresser: Will you have a hairdresser on your special day.

The Decision

Having considered all of the above, you may simply choose a design that you love. Hopefully a design that suits your dress and the style/theme of the special occasion. After selecting a design you can then always choose how to wear your hair, and if you want to wear a veil.

Hopefully this information and advice will give you a head start into deciding whether to to use a headband or a tiara on for your fairytale, magical, dream wedding.
