About Lily

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Suzanne, which means White Lily. This is why I called the Business Lily Bridal Tiaras. I design and Hand-make Wedding Hair Accessories for women who are looking for a High Street alternative to a Tiara.

Why do you do what you do?

I have an innate desire to express that comes from the heart. When I am being creative, I am happy. I also enjoy helping others to fulfil their personal creative vision for their special occasion. I find it incredibly satisfying to hear positive feedback.

How do you work?

I am an Artist/Designer, I am also a Mum. I enjoy working from my home studio. My creative process includes gather ideas and sketching, but I also sometimes work directly from the materials.

What work do you most enjoy doing?

Designing and making new Collections. I also enjoy the challenge of Commissions, as it involves sketching and then producing work from the drawings.

What themes do you pursue?

My love of nature definitely comes through my designs. Especially trees and then making hair vines. I am still passionate about fairytales and hoping to produce an Elvish Circlet, inspired collection.

I recently produced several Golden Daisy inspired pieces.

What memorable responses have you had to your work?

My favourite memory is opening jewellery making magazine and unexpectedly seeing a previous commission of a Rose Quartz pendant that I’ve made.

What’s your scariest experience?

A number of years ago, I had my own barge. Driving my boat on the Open Canal was scary!

What’s your favourite art work?

Starry night by Van Gogh. I just love that painting! I keep endeavouring to recreate that painting.

Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?

I love the courage of street artists. I recently purchased a Space Artwork painting by a Spray Paint artist. I also loved listening to a gentleman playing the piano in such a beautiful way that it brought me to tears.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Falling down the Chatsworth garden water feature stops when I was little and soaking my knickers so that I had to go home with no underwear on.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?

My academic background is in law and I’m a qualified barrister.

Why art?

For me art is like breathing. It’s become away of life. Enriching my daily experience. I’m happy when I’m Designing and Making.

Please get in touch with your ideas and requests. I would be happy to help produce something Unique for your Special Occasion.
