Lily Bridal Tiaras: A Journey from a Personal Perspective

Background

I had always made things as a child, but this went unchannelled at School and University as I was academically strong. I spent four years at Law School, three years in Sheffield studying L.L.B. Law, and a year at Nottingham Trent University, where I trained as a Barrister.

Shortly after finishing my training at 23, I was kindly booked onto an All Day Jewellery Making Course in Nottingham. I discovered an activity I absolutely loved! From then on I made jewellery gifts for all my friends and family. I found it to be a very relaxing, and almost meditative once I found my creative flow.

Jewellery Qualification

For the next ten years, alongside working, I undertook further creative studies. I studied many Creative Course part-time, including a City and Guilds Certificate in Jewellery Making. For a number of years I had a Creative Business called Rose Tinted Workshops. This was teaching Jewellery Making Workshops, Courses and Parties. This came to an end as my passion was for Design and Hand Crafting and not always Teaching.

After spending 6 months in South Africa, when I arrived back into the UK, I explored various Creative Business Ideas. With a keen interest in Beadwork, I started visiting local Bridal Boutiques, noticing that much of the bridal jewellery was in all likelihood imported, and not hand made. The quality craftsmanship, love and creativity, sadly were lacking.

I imagined that, if I was getting married I would want my hair and head to be adorned with something that I really loved, that had been made with care.

I would want high quality designs and attention-to-detail. It was through this realisation that I started to make Bridal Hair Accessories.

After going on maternity leave, having a beautiful little girl, I decided that I wanted the flexibility of having a Creative Business. Rather than a fixed position. I started designing and making One-of-a-Kind Creative Bridal Hair Accessories.

Many of the designs are influenced by my love of walking and running in nature, and inspired by my yoga practice.

The designs produced are miniature pieces of wearable art. Most of them are what I would love to wear on my Special Day, and in turn, it is my hope that others love and enjoy them as well.
